I would like to find a proper introduction for the review of this album, but I would need a poet! It is incredibly difficult to find the right words to best express such deep emotions, like those I am experiencing while the song "Why" plays on my computer… my soul is in a mystical frenzy, my heart cannot withstand this barrage of emotions that overwhelm me all at once! Tears gently stream down my face, my mouth trembles like that of a child trying to hold back tears, I see my room wrapped in a thousand colors, which captivate and envelop me with a sweet warmth, my heartbeat increases, my body feels ever lighter, I close my eyes and have the sensation of slowly lifting off the ground… I'm flying… I'm ecstatic, the music is possessing me and sends messages straight to my heart, I feel the presence of my own soul, as if it is detaching from my body to merge with the surrounding environment… within me, deep in my self, I hear a voice that keeps shouting at me that despite all that afflicts the world… "life is a wonderful thing"!!!

No friends… I HAVE NOT TAKEN A HALLUCINOGENIC MUSHROOM!!!!! This is just a small part of what happens to me when I listen to this album! I am more and more convinced of one thing…

In 1992, a great artist named Annie Lennox gave birth to one of the greatest musical albums in the history of our planet!!

"Diva" is the name of this compilation of supreme musical masterpieces… we are faced with the very beauty of life, love, beautiful feelings, the joy of living, the pleasure of seeing a butterfly move among the trees, being moved by a child's smile, the immense joy felt after the first kiss… The very concept of "beauty" is encapsulated in these eleven songs, written and composed by a true DIVA, not an MTV diva or a fashionable chart diva like Madonna and company… Annie Lennox is a DIVA of art! An undisputed master of international music, she is simply the quintessence of art! The cheerful music made of various synthesizers and electronic elements of the Eurythmics are now a distant memory! This chameleon-like artist (a sort of female David Bowie) with a unique and divine charisma that enchanted a generation (with her myriad looks and engaging ambiguous ways) has now matured! And she has demonstrated it with this prodigious album that has the power to convince an atheist to believe in GOD after just one listen… this record has it all! It possesses the artistic maturity of a great singer, it was not a product conceived for radio charts, Lennox followed her spiritual path without worrying too much about profits (it should be noted, however, that despite everything… it was a great commercial success, 15 million copies!!).

This is what art should be! Following your heart and writing only what you feel and not what people want… only in this way can one conceive something unique and artistically valid… This is the album containing the song "Why", in my opinion, the most beautiful song ever conceived by a female artist! And I believe it might be the most beautiful song in the world, period! This is what I think and I have no problem expressing it.

In this miracle CD, there are only two pop songs that add a cheerful and "normal" touch to the album… "Walking on Broken Glass" and "precious"… which nostalgically remind us of the 80s rhythm styles of the Eurythmics, while the other nine songs are the result of artistic maturation from every point of view, starting with this woman's miraculous voice!! Besides reaching chilling tones, Lennox's voice can unleash a charisma and a style that I personally have not found even in sacred monsters like Whitney Houston (who is technically superior but expresses fewer feelings in my opinion), we are faced with high-class vocal performances, you don't hear things like this around. The musical level is very high, much more played compared to the synthetic style of the Eurythmics, yet still characterized by a good portion of synthesizers.. what remains most impressed in this musical production is the class displayed in the execution of the songs, enveloping rhythms, soft and mesmerizing melodies, soundscapes performed with absolute grace and mastery… and when a work is done to perfection there are no other words to describe it… "masterpiece" that's what this album is!

Worthy of note as well are the subsequent albums of the artist, such as the splendid "medusa" and the recent "bare" but I believe that in DIVA, Annie Lennox expressed the pinnacle of her splendid art as a songwriter…

I also want to mention the videos from the various singles, particularly "Money Can't Buy It" which features a spectacular facial miming performance by Lennox (I will soon pay homage to her with my amateur video). "Why" and "Primitive" where Annie once again demonstrates her incredible transformative and interpretative skills, and finally "Walking On Broken Glass" which features her alongside the actor John Malkovich.

I will never stop being moved by this album… NEVER! I will fall in love with this album! I will love life with this album! I will defend my country with this album! I will raise my future children with this album!, I will make love while listening to this album, the world is beautiful because this album exists making me appreciate it! Without music the world would end tomorrow!!!

I love you Annie Lennox! I love you like my own life!
