As the final "episode" of the trilogy of albums ("We Don't Need to Whisper" represents destruction and hope for the future, while "I-Empire" symbolizes restoration), "Love," with its eleven tracks, revolves around the theme of the triumph and rebirth of feelings. The sound undergoes another variation from previous works, which proves a continued growth of Tom and the other members of the band.

The result is an album that blends the hopeful vein of WDNTW and the aggressiveness of I-Empire in a sort of progressive rock with echoes of the atmospheres present in some parts of ''Hallucinations'', ''The Flight of Apollo'' and in the intro of ''Letters to God pt.2'', and the space rock, in both ''The Moon-Atomic'', ''Soul Survivor'', and in the intros of ''Epic Holiday'' and ''Some Origins of Fire''.

It begins with a true introduction to the album that encapsulates in its title ''Et Ducit Mundum Per Luce'', the themes of the album itself. The first five tracks are interconnected, one big song that can only engage and transport the listener in fantastic scenarios, creating a new, fresh atmosphere, yet familiar for those who have always followed the band. ''The Flight of Apollo'', ''Young London'', and ''Shove'' follow one another, almost symbolizing the three albums of the band. ''Epic Holiday'' and ''Hallucinations'' contribute to increasing the album's aggressiveness, while the chorus of ''The Moon-Atomic'' evokes spatial scenarios more present than ever in this work. Finally, ''Some Origins of Fire'' is vaguely similar to ''Heaven'', with a bit of the ''task'' that the latter had in I-Empire, namely summarizing the album's ideal in a song: ''We all are love and love is hard, it breaks my heart''!

In conclusion: "Love" is a great album, not as innovative as "We Don't Need to Whisper," but enough for the AvA of today with two albums behind them. It proposes a 'change', or rather, an enrichment of their musical repertoire. It is probably Tom's best work... let's hope that with the free download people will approach this band and appreciate their skills and potential. Unfortunately, there will always be people (the usual nostalgics of his past) who will label them as ''Tom DeLonge's other band, the one from...'', not admitting their greatness. By now, they are a great band, with three great albums behind them... it is time they achieved the success they deserve!
