Sapkowski began publishing Witcher short stories in the mid-1980s. His Witcher books have been adapted into successful video games by CD Projekt Red and a Netflix television series.

A positive, witty review praising The Last Wish as a smart, entertaining fantasy short-story collection that introduces Geralt of Rivia. The review highlights the book's irony, social critique, and affinity with metal culture. Recommended as light but intelligent summer reading.

For:Readers of fantasy, fans of The Witcher, metal fans curious about literature, casual summer readers

this book will be an excellent leisure companion, capable of entertaining you with a fresh and very fluid style, but also written with intelligence, irony, and a critical spirit towards the genre, which it enjoys repeatedly breaking the rules of, with here and there some glimpses of metaphysical-existential reflection and social critique.
