They were born in 1994 in Austin (Texas) and their name is taken from an ancient Maya ritual chant.

This is their sixth album, a revival, especially for many who considered them finished after the last So Divided in 2006. They are generally placed by critics in the indie rock category, which could be limiting in understanding their sound.

A dreamy atmosphere surrounds this album mostly made of pop melodies played by a grand piano or grandiose choirs, sounds that often emerge from a punk/hardcore past that still lives a bit in some moments of the album (Ascending). However, be careful not to confuse them with emo, that's a different story; even though Far Pavillion might mislead you.

Imagine dazed Muse still uncontaminated by the illness of the star system composing for the Mercury Rev. Bells of Creation, perhaps the best track of the album, seems like a Wolfmother track, although maybe it should be said the other way around.

Pop and psychedelia bordered by a perhaps slightly moderated passionate impetus, and that might be what makes it interesting but not too much.
