Second review on DeBaser, total change of genre (from Eminem's Pop/Rap to the Folk/Power Metal of Amorphis)...

In my opinion, this album is really well composed, and presents various musical styles, power metal ("Course of Fate", "My Sun"), snippets of folk music (the tracklist "Skyforger", which features a nice introduction made with acoustic guitar and various wind instruments) and death metal ("Majestic Beast" with an unexpected growl and a "judgment day" atmosphere, then returning to more conventional singing in the chorus, alternating this with growl singing as if it were a battle between death metal and power metal styles).

As for the instruments, the piano is very present (especially in the first three tracks, "Sampo", "Silver Bridge" and "From the Heaven of my Heart"), the distorted guitar alternates with piano parts, in my opinion, the drum parts are good, and the solos are excellent (especially the one in "My Sun"), and the alternations of chorus/solo and the alternate rhythms are spot on (as I wrote above, between death and power, especially in "Sampo"), the string and wind parts are very beautiful and the atmospheres are captivating (thanks to the choirs and the melodies of piano, strings and winds, and of course the guitar riffs).

In my opinion, the best tracks on the album are "Sky Is Mine", "Skyforger", "Majestic Beast" and "Highest Star" (for their instrumental, rhythmic alternation and the melodic and growl singing).

The word is yours

It’s a spectacular opening, heavily indebted to the two previous albums, and a continuation of the piece that is engaging and epic.

This Skyforger stands a step below Silent Waters, for me still unsurpassed. Nevertheless, it is an album to own by all means.
