Far From The Sun

The Amorphis are back, after a controversial "Ad Universum" (2001).
Increasingly embedded in the context of seventies sounds, the (former) great Amorphis seem to have stalled, yes, because "Far From The Sun" is a half misstep.
Except for the enjoyable title track, we are faced with an unfinished album, not very well produced and too, too flat. The ideas are confused, ranging from the atmosphere of "Day of Your Beliefs" to the REGGAE (yes, REGGAE!!!) of "Ethereal Solitude".
Besides the production, Pasi Koskinen's vocal performance stands out in a negative way, being too "monotone".

Recommended only to die-hard Amorphis fans (who would buy it anyway) and to lovers of repetitive and exhausting pop, as well as to those who have a lot of money to spend. The decision is yours!

On the web, you can find free and legal mp3s of Amorphis. There are only a few of them (for obvious copyright reasons).
Only "Far From The Sun" and "Day of Your Beliefs" are recommended (so to speak), which despite everything are nice when taken individually; nice, and nothing more.

The Amorphis are capable of better, for sure. We trust in their next release.
