Pitch black, dominant darkness. The debut of the Belgians Amenra is something perverse, possessed, monotonous.
Sludge-Doom-Post Hardcore assembled with cynical and ruthless malice. A very hard, difficult journey that one embarks on when listening to the album in its entirety.
Long, suffocating tracks; the voice overflows with vitriol and quicklime. Caustic is the entire instrumentation when the band launches into furious and pressing assaults. Nightmare-inducing cadence notes; some rare glimmer of flickering light. A few seconds of breath...but the difficulty in breathing soon returns dominant.
At times the singing, so tormented and pierced, reminds me of Jacob Bannon from Converge.
Raw, gory, pitch black; like the image chosen for the cover.
Thick and bubbling mud overflows from amplifiers that must withstand voluminous, lowered, annoying notes.
Discovered just a few days ago. They have seduced me but not abandoned me...FROM BIRTH TO GRAVE...
Ad Maiora.
