Two years after "Grand Master Mogol" comes the consecration for Amari with their new album: "Scimmie D’Amore"?
In this latest album, there is an evolution from the previous one, the tracks appear more direct, while maintaining a profound sonic complexity.
A blend of compressor-driven synth pop, indie pop, 80’s electro-pop, Italian pop (not coincidentally the tribute to Mogol), funk groove, hip hop, and drops of rock.
From a mix of all these colors emerge playful, ironic tracks that are damn catchy. The single "Le gite fuori porta" is a strong example of what the album is about. The same goes for many other songs on this album, like "Il raffreddore delle donne".
And it is precisely this combination of sounds that gives the group an originality, not just nationally.
"Fiamme in un bicchiere" alternates dance moments with hip hop instances, all with a children's choir in the chorus, somewhat reminiscent of M.I.A.’s latest album, Kala. More decisive instead: "Manager nella nebbia", a raw, direct, and strongly electro track. The ballads are instead: "Trent’anni che non ci vediamo" and the title track, "Scimmie d’Amore", the perfect track for such a role.
In the last two years, Amari has gained greater awareness, closing with "Grand Master Mogol" an almost adolescent period, and opening with "Scimmie D’Amore" a period of maturation. Without losing the freshness of the music, ideal for lifting morale.
