It's been three years since the release of the first, self-titled and beautiful album from then-unknown Amalia Grè. With this "Per Te", she might do even better. An album with jazz tones, but not too much, one that on first listen is a bit tiresome, perhaps due to two or three somewhat whiny tracks and her voice, which for many is shaky and bothersome. However, if you find the desire to listen to it again, your ears will be grateful.

It starts off well with the first two tracks, "Angel My Love" with a fine bossa nova rhythm and "Giardino Multirazziale", only to fall into a kind of tedious slumber induced by "Avvolgimi Amore" and "Quanto t'ho amato", a cover of the acclaimed piece by Benigni. Fortunately, these remain the two ugliest tracks in the whole album and slip away without causing too much damage. You wake up immediately with "Forte Respiro", for me the best, a cheerful song perfect for the unique voice of the Puglian singer-songwriter, with a fine, essential, and effective drum tempo that makes the track truly a gem. Listen to believe.
From here on, you glide smoothly along with some pleasant songs, and one in particular, "Peonia", makes you snap your fingers in 60s jazz-swing style. The songs that close the album are beautiful: "Ascoltami" and especially the unforgettable "We Have All The Time In The World" interpreted in a simple and sensual way, resulting in a very personal version.

Amalia Grè, in a lean period, gives us an album that can be bought without worries, without landing on the usual chords. Clearly: her voice you either hate or love, for some it may also be annoying, to me it seems sensual and calm, simply pleasant. Technically, there is no debate.
