Gli Alunni Del Sole in the melodic scene of the 70s were a group of remarkable depth, no other band has ever given me chills like this. Maybe it's Morelli's sweet singing or their wonderful atmospheres, those subtle nuances, but the fact remains that whenever I hear something from their repertoire, I'm wrapped in a sense of beauty that leaves me speechless. What a harmonious sound and what an innate attitude towards melody.

This collection represents their approach to music very well. Listen to "Concerto" with those strings that caress the band's sounds, creating a sensational atmosphere. Moments of reflection emerge in "E mi manchi tanto," that when you hear it, you see yourself, travel through time, feel a new thrill, you want to run, to think about something else to forget. And the album continues, "I tuoi silenzi" is my favorite, the story of a couple breaking up, feeling the urgency to reconnect but exhausted, mute, amidst the many flashes of a misunderstood life. But how can you tell me that "A canzuncella" is anything less, this track that brings to mind last October when I thought about someone I now don't even know where she is. I could write about all of them, from the languid "Tarantè" to "L'aquilone", a meadow escape that's almost summery.

Gli Alunni Del Sole are this and beyond, just think of how many couples fell in love with these songs, and still keep their vinyls intact, now symbols of their love, jealously guarded among other vinyls of similar groups. I think about the scene, a living room with baroque furniture, wallpapered walls, fabrics, sofas, a table with many souvenirs, an old stereo with a worn tape player needle. More or less the home of the great Alberto Sordi in the film "Dove vai in vacanza?", and if I think more, when they leave, in the car they imagine that upon return they will find everything transformed, they look at each other and retrace their past, as if to say that deep down, even if things around change, love does not end.

All this has influenced my passion for this group, but also the memories, this album (which I have in CD version) is tied to a romantic disappointment of mine, to a girl who lived in a different city from mine. I was torn by the doubt of whether to reveal it or not, and after days spent thinking about it, I took the train and went. Unfortunately, everything shattered in her words and disheartened I took the first wagon back. Alone on the train, I looked out the window, with headphones in my ears listening to this CD, and as I listened and thought of her, a tear kept me company.
