Here we are again talking about the power genre, which I could never get tired of discussing and listening to. Last night while talking with my friend, he asked why life is so sad. Unfortunately, it's true, just watch the news to get depressed, every day we witness some of the worst news and there's never an end or limit, so we need to react.

How? Some people get high by any means, legal or illegal, I definitely choose the more legal one, in fact, I combine business with pleasure and listen to my beloved power that makes me feel less sad in this crappy life (deliberately written with two m's).

The album I propose to you today is "The Fallen Empire" by Altaria, a band that isn't new but is related to more famous bands like Sonata Arctica and Celesty, through the guitarists, one left and the other replaced him. This album was released in 2006 and is the last studio work, because in 2007 only a compilation was released.

The band's sound is naturally power, hence fantastic technique from all the musicians and also the singer. The guitar work is always done as ODIN commands and the one behind the drums does his dirty dog meat-grinder work, the keyboardist is Henrik Klingenberg, so you understand that the band is definitely Nordic and specifically Finnish, and this can only be a guarantee of quality.
Many say power is better when played by Nordics, others say everyone plays it well these days, but that's another story that I might develop at another time in another review.

For now, enjoy this beautiful album which is a breath of fresh air. The level is always very high but I still want to point out the opening track "Disciples" and the bonus track "The Dying Flame", and "Valley Of Rainbows", which has a chorus that seems copied from a Sonata Arctica album, but this is not a flaw, on the contrary.
There are also slightly calmer pieces like: "Abyss Of Twilight" and "The Lion" where the melody makes it clear that this is also needed in a technical piece. This power album with its rhythms and hardness can truly bring you great inner good, I expressly recommend it especially to those like my friend who every evening destroys his soul watching the crap that surrounds us!

STAY POWER, STAY UP!

"The Fallen Empire represents a turning point for Altaria, abandoning Stratovarius-like traits to embrace an Edguy-inspired heavy metal style."

"Overall, it’s not difficult to pick up on the falls and empty moments, but it’s also not difficult to appreciate the work."
