Glyn Thomas and Richard Woolgar definitely have a Giorgio Moroder record in their discography, one by New Order, something by Depeche Mode, a Gary Newman for good measure, and maybe even Visage. Not to mention the Daft Punk... They might even have a Placebo album, having borrowed Brian Molko (in search of new ideas) in the sublime "Carbon Kid." Two years after "B.A.S.I.C.," this "White Noise" comes out, an album that takes us back to the solitude suffered under the neon lights (sorry James Dean Bradfield for quoting you) of our adolescent discos, when for the umpteenth time things had gone wrong and all that was left was to vent with "People are People," hoping that the last blonde, the one nobody wanted, might give you at least a slight smile with a last-ditch effort...The eighties revisited, without that extra touch of genius of Daft Punk. Taking what's left of the late nineties, mixed in a disjointed manner. An album that does not convince. It always seems like something is missing. From what I read around, I expected something more...

Burning Up lyrics
The lights in all the cities have now gone
Restless hearts and minds are moving on
Baby take the best escape for all
Don't know if I'm coming back for more
Burning up again
I found my only friend
Burning up again
I found my only friend
Got to feel inside the orange sun
No hold on the borders till it's fun.
Race to please you if you start to roll,
Vanity and time will rape my soul.
Burning up again
I found my only friend
Burning up again
I found my only friend
Burning up again
I found my only friend
Burning up again
I found my only friend
