Aloe Blacc (born 1979 in Los Angeles) is an American singer-songwriter of Panamanian descent. He debuted with Shine Through (2006) on Stones Throw and later released commercially successful material including I Need a Dollar and the albums Good Things and Lift Your Spirit. He is known for soul, R&B and hip-hop influences and for featuring on Avicii's "Wake Me Up."

Born in Los Angeles in 1979; of Panamanian origin. Early member of Emanon. Debut album Shine Through released on Stones Throw (2006). Multi-instrumentalist (trumpet, piano, guitar noted in reviews). Collaborated with producers including Madlib and Oh No. Known singles include "I Need a Dollar" and "The Man"; featured on Avicii's "Wake Me Up."

 Of Panamanian origin, E. Nathaniel Dawkins, known as Aloe Blacc, was born in Los Angeles in 1979 and began to cultivate his love for music from elementary school, becoming a decent level trumpeter as a teenager.
