Allen Toussaint

Allen Toussaint (January 14, 1938 – November 10, 2015) was an American New Orleans pianist, songwriter, arranger and record producer, notable for his influence on New Orleans R&B and for songs such as "Southern Nights."

Born in New Orleans; influential New Orleans R&B pianist, songwriter, arranger and producer; active from the 1950s until his death in 2015; wrote songs that were recorded by numerous other artists.
