Splendid.
Finally a truly beautiful album, emotional until the end, featuring a less egoistic Robert Plant, alongside a wonderful and very talented singer/violinist, Alison Krauss.
"Raising Sand" could be described as a simple album, a surrender to pure emotion. But the best thing is that Plant finally admits his age, so on the album, you won't find any risky or embarrassing high notes (as seen in some of his solo works). Meanwhile, the girl, a blues star, is perfect alongside him, and the project works. Classic and modern find an unexpected fusion, along with folk nuances and the good old blues as always.
Sweet and dreamy atmospheres, heavenly voices, and relaxing music. A clear departure from today's music: indeed, while old American singer-songwriters now release albums that make them even more decrepit, here Plant seems to become young again, rediscovering the true love he talked so much about with a little band called Led Zeppelin.
"Raising Sand" presents itself as the likely best album of the year. Don't miss it, whether you're nostalgic or a lover of true music.
