This Quot dies resurgo (Every day I rise) is a treasure chest that holds ancient jewels that exude timeless beauty. It is part of the fruitful theme explored by Alio Die, the most prominent representative of ambient music in Italy, who had brought us the so-called "castle trilogy" (composed of the albums Aura seminalis/Tempus rei/Horas tibi serenas) based on medieval and acoustic/electronic sounds. In this new album, Stefano Musso, starting from the style of the trilogy, further expands the sonic horizons towards new unexplored territories. I believe the true miracle of this music is being ancient and new at the same time, managing to renew and regenerate traditional music. It's like taking a sort of dive back in Time where we can explore the eternal essence of everyday life in the Middle Ages. One gets the impression that Alio Die lives, while remaining anchored to everyday life, in a dimension outside of time. The two longest tracks, "Veritas temporis filia" and the title track (both about 23 minutes long), manage to create a meditative atmosphere of unreal sophistication. The loops and drones created by Alio Die intertwine in a miraculous balance with the sounds created by the zither (a zither widely used in southern Germany), creating a cathartic and ancestral effect. Quot dies resurgo is an album to savor slowly, driving away bad vibes and letting the mind travel to another space-time reality.
