I'm just 19 years old, and I've only been listening to this genre of music for a few years. When I first delved into this musical genre, I "asked for advice" from the older ones about which were the main bands to listen to, perhaps the most innovative or the most representative. Among the usual names that people definitely more experienced than me mentioned (AC/DC, Metallica, Hendrix, etc...), there was that of a very peculiar artist, Alice Cooper. At first, I kept wondering what kind of music someone named "Alice" could make (understand me, I was much younger than I am now), but despite everything, it was love at first listen. I adored his music, his immortal songs... but even more, I adored his persona and legendary theatricality. Yes, Alice Cooper literally changed my way of seeing Rock. I made this small and probably boring premise just to explain how attached I am to this artist and how important he is to me. As soon as this Live came out, I ran to the nearest store to buy it. Back home, I put the DVD into my computer and started the show. Yes exactly, SHOW. Because an Alice Cooper concert is not just a concert, but a theatrical work. It's pointless for me to talk about the setlist; all the songs that consecrated Uncle Alice to legend are there, without any exclusions. From "I'm Eighteen" to "Welcome to my nightmare," passing through the legendary "Poison" and "No More Mr. Nice Guy." The proposed setlist really leaves no escape for anyone, with a collection of infallible classics masterfully executed by a fantastic band. They also present four covers, specifically "Revolution" by Lennon, "Break On Through" by the Doors, "Foxy Lady" by Hendrix, and "My Generation" by the Who. But it is the visual part that is the highlight of the entire product. All of Uncle Alice's infernal tricks are there, from the guillotine to Frankenstein's monster, to the nurse (And what a nurse!) gone mad... all excellently supported by truly excellent audio/video quality. The band is truly fantastic, with a drummer (Glen Sobel) that I particularly appreciated and a trio of guitarists (Ryan Roxie, Tommy Henriksen, and the stunning Orianthi) truly phenomenal. Mr. Vincent Furnier delivers a good performance despite his now advanced age and the relative aches. The oceanic crowd of Wacken is the perfect place for shows like this, with a really warm audience that doesn't miss singing the choruses of the classics proposed here. Alice Cooper delivers a monstrous performance, teaching much younger colleagues what it means to Rock'n'Roll. Thank you for everything, Alice, truly...
