ALIBI - Alibi

(AT Records)

This debut album by Alibi is a very unique record. Unique because in the current musical landscape, where most artists either seek a quick stint on talent shows (often a boomerang that kills many careers), or trap music which brings in the money (but not everyone is lucky enough to be Sfera Ebbasta), or they pretend to be new indie kids, Alibi choose a rather solitary path. With a very "professional" approach (they play amazingly, with no technical flaws) but at the same time "passionate," they place themselves in... An almost indefinable area... Rock (with its various metal, prog, grunge, southern branches), pop, funk, soul, blues are genres that magically weave in and out, with great blending ability, across Alibi's 11 tracks. "Demoni" is the epitome of this way of thinking about songs, very fluidly, with daring but always successful transitions between one genre and another. Crossover? No... Nothing about it makes you think of the way bands like the Red Hot Chili Peppers make music. It's more of a mental crossover for Alibi, which allows us to glide with great pleasure through the aforementioned genres, evoking them, but at the same time creating something new, timeless, and classic.
