This concert was shaping up to be something really appetizing: Rise Against are one of the best modern melodic hardcore bands (at least according to yours truly), Alexisonfire have recently released a beautiful post-hardcore album titled "Watch Out!" and Red Lights Flash are the first European group to be signed to A-F Records, a label owned by the legendary Anti Flag.

Around 10 PM, the Red Lights Flash take the stage and immediately kick off with their somewhat emotional hardcore. The Austrians have energy and charm to spare (the bassist's skits were hilarious, especially when boasting his somewhat broken Italian) and an inhuman drummer. I recommend checking out their latest album, "Free."

After a quick stage change, here come the Alexisonfire. Their performance is incredible: technique, charisma, and especially a truly intense screamer (though the entire band is pretty crazy... see the bassist). They deliver songs taken equally from both their latest album and their previous self-titled one. Even more incredible was the already fabulous on-record "Get Fighted." It's a pity the concert was so brief (just over half an hour!).

And finally, here are the masters of the evening: the Rise Against. The band from Chicago spares no energy or sweat. And the crowd perceives it: a terrifying mosh pit, stage diving, people on stage (including even a naked person!). Their live songs sound even faster and more powerful. Amazing Dead Ringer and Black Masks & Gasoline.

In the end, I can say it was a great concert, even though the acoustics weren't the best (but I've been told that's business as usual at the Estragon).
Just one last thing: how is it possible that someone from the deep northeast has to travel 400 kilometers to see a decent concert? Oh well...
