It is customary for me to praise Alexia; it's truly impossible to criticize her, surely because she has always managed to surprise.
This time I want to review the album "Il cuore a modo mio" which is truly excellent, the quality of the music and lyrics is so high that it's hard to find anything subpar.
An intro leads us to the track "Cuore non hai" which is irresistible, "Saturday Night" is a dance track reminiscent of disco-music, but after this ode to carefree fun, attention is drawn to the track that won the Sanremo Festival 2003 "Per dire di no" which makes us reflect on the other side of reality, disillusionment, "Crazy War" is truly captivating and "Four Jumps" is definitely something experimental, "Egoista" is infused with soul, "C'est la vie" with its fantastic groove is one of the highlights of this album with an excellent music-words combination, "Freddo nell'anima" has gospel echoes within, while "Fatti insegnare dalla mamma" makes its chorus its peculiarity with an electro-pop-funky base, after the pop tracks "Qualcosa di forte" and "Tu mi fai vivere" it's time for a cover of a track performed by Aretha Franklin "I never loved a man", which is one of the most exciting, truly a beautiful cover, and the album closes with the version of "Per dire no" performed at the festival.
Alexia confirms herself in every album, and she marks her unique space, blending and comparing different styles.
