I’ll just tell you that the movie begins with the arrest/security services taking custody of little Jackson, who must be about ten years old, perhaps less. Then, well over 10 years later (perhaps more), neither his mother nor the police officer/sheriff responsible for the arrest have aged one bit, not a wrinkle, not a single gray hair, they haven't even changed their clothes. I think that might just be enough.
It's a pity because at times direction, set design, and cinematography didn't seem terrible to me, on the contrary, I spotted some hints of quality. But then the screenplay always manages to ruin it all, you don’t even have time to say “oh, look at this beautiful scene here, what a beautiful saturated color in this corridor” before the unrealistic, unappealing nonsense happens (yes, because there is also appealing nonsense).
At one point, the nurse trips during the escape and falls mouth-first onto the mouth of a decomposed/mummified corpse (and it immediately seems like Valentine's Day, with even some lingering and a bit of saliva). So: it's already very, very, very difficult for such a thing, such a fortunate coincidence to happen, but for it to do so against the laws of physics is impossible, or perhaps just stupid.
Afar (though in my opinion very inspired, bordering on metaphorical plagiarism) from the creative quality of Rob Zombie's Halloween - The Beginning, this shaky attempt to give an 'origin', a prequel to the famous character from The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, stands out (beyond the inevitable heads) just for being a melting pot of blood, inconsistencies, porchetta, and chestnut cake.
Awful movie.
