Many of you are probably already banging your heads against the monitor, imagining my face in place of it; I'm sorry, but I was about to publish the review of "Let It Be… Naked" when instinct whispered to me that it might have already been done...indeed! But I will publish it anyway because I've worked hard on it! So I stopped to look at my column of CDs in search of something "different" to review, and I noticed a yellow cover...noooo, what memories! To be honest, I bought this CD myself, but don't ask me why, because I don't even know!
I just know that I've listened to it about 5 times because I loved the way Alex Britti played the guitar, it fascinated me; in fact, I just want to talk about that because the songs aren't exactly a concentration of creativity, the lyrics are even less so, but the guitar is unique! Let me say this guys: Alex Britti is a great guitarist, and you can't disagree. Just listen to the acrobatics he performs with the instrument, then one could (to some extent) overlook the lyrics, even though some (and by some I mean two) in their naivety and banality hide a meaning; "Lucciola," for example, is a song where Alex talks in his own way about prostitutes; or "Milano," which describes the frantic life of the Lombard capital.
Let's just say Alex Britti would have been fine in a band SOLELY and EXCLUSIVELY to play the guitar, which for now is the only thing he knows how to do wonderfully.
