Today, February 18th, Fabrizio de André would have turned 67, his untimely passing has left an unfillable void in the Italian singer-songwriter music scene.

Alessio Lega is a singer-songwriter in the most classic sense of the term, culturally shaped in the legendary singer-songwriter years of the seventies, with a hint of jazz and a lot of the Genoese school, a healthy taste for mockery, and a gaze also directed towards Gaber's song theatre. Accompanied by Mariposa, Alessio gathers in this work 5/6 years of songs written to narrate moments of life, his life.

Love lyrics and bitter lyrics quickly succeed each other in the CD player, the deliberately dark rhythms of: L'Ultima Galleria (Genova) where the sound becomes obsessively laden with low-flying helicopters and teargas in the eyes clash and marry with the trip of Ode Al Moto Perpetuo an anarchic and insurrectionary song against the power of the automobile and if in Vigliacca we find a son of Piero's war, in Oasi Nel Deserto the figure of the woman is extolled to the point of making her precisely an oasis of peace. Some CDs, when bought, are listened to carelessly, perhaps you scan the first ten seconds of each track.

This work, however, recommends the use of Repeat All.

Alessio reveals himself to be a shrewd singer-songwriter and at times absolutely embarrassing for these years of the new century, with gentle and acoustic manners. This album is almost unobtainable but fortunately, Alessio himself allows us a free download (http://www.alessiolega.it/scarica.php). Embarrassing in the sense that his colleagues (colleagues?) no longer have the courage for certain social criticisms, the Italian indifference has now spread widely and affects all cultural levels, from uncultured proletarians to satisfied university students.

Tonight in Milan he should also have performed for the tribute to de André but as a true anarchist, he preferred to go to demonstrate in Vicenza because if one is faithful to one's ideas, one may prefer to lose some money but never one's dignity and freedom.

Alessio, then accompanied by Mokacyclope, will present the beautiful Sotto Il Pavè La Spiaggia, already reviewed by me on the pages of DeBaser

Singer-songwriter/storyteller to keep an eye on and be aware that Sanremo is starting again soon.

"The revolution, comrades will come on a bicycle
sole and pedal
this is the real ideal.
Without haste, comrade, boycott the engine.
Without making noise
Tread on power.
Watch the knee
It's the shin that I stretch.
The revolution is already pedaling!"
