THE REVIEW

This EP of only fifteen minutes is the latest obsession of Musicaitaliana. What talent Alessandro Grazian has! A singer-songwriter just over thirty who surrounds himself with strings and clarinets to reinterpret the great tradition of substantial Italian and French Chansonniers (Endrigo, Ferré, Aznavour) in a modern key. The young man is determined in his mission. He debuted in 2005 with "Caduto", and Alessandro continued refining his work and in 2008 followed up with "Indossai", a superb, elegant, poetic, ambitious album that surprised critics and earned numerous accolades.

At the end of 2009 comes "L'abito", an EP containing five delicate and enveloping gems that continue the discourse of "Indossai" (I wore the clothing, indeed). An intriguing blend of the sixties, Morricone, and Michael Nyman.

Unfortunately, Grazian's offering is as inspired as it is out of today's time. To inattentive ears, the Padovan musician's research might seem vaguely "pastist." But that would be a huge mistake. Alessandro Grazian is a sensitive entertainer, a master of the classical instrument, endowed with a passionate and technically prepared voice, capable of clothing retro-flavored songs in rock ("Incensatevi").

I can only say: fall in love with it!
