When I first encountered "Safe Space 1," I was particularly struck by the depth of its cover: in contrast to the black background, a decaying fetus and the title "Safe Space."

The space in which "Safe Space 1" thrives is the mind of the author, Alessandro Galatola, and it consists of 7 short stories totaling 37 pages. The common theme is an architecture based on the contrast between elements, attentive to rhythm, constantly evolving, entertaining, but never trivial. The narrative flow proceeds in a spiral, opening up in the reader's mind without closing in on itself. A characteristic is the attention to the collective dimension, as an extension of individual experience.

Mutant organisms, circulating cells, synaptic interconnections, surreal anal journeys, reality, fantasy, mystical forces: in summary, "Safe Space."
