Second solo CD release for the Breno singer-songwriter Alessandro Ducoli, who had already made a positive impact with the debut CD "Lolita" two years ago. The first thing that stands out is the brilliance and quality of the recording, perfect in every way. Then, the outstanding technique of all the musicians involved in the project (more or less the same as in "Lolita"). Lastly, the main subject, the songs.

Ducoli is a singer-songwriter with tones that are sometimes joyful, though never carefree, sometimes melancholic, as in one of the best songs on the album, "Francesca". All the tracks deserve particular attention, but especially "Ridendo e baciando", "Il soldato dell'amore", in which Ducoli reiterates once again his point of view on relationships with the opposite sex, "Malaspina", which could have served as a "trailer" for the album if a farsighted record producer had listened to the CD and decided to invest something in this project (given the average intelligence of Italian record producers, comparable to that of a headless chicken, I believe it very little). Returning to our Ducoli, his album is dedicated to generous young women, and once again whisky and cigarettes dominate the atmosphere of the tracks (I also point out the presence of a couple of pieces with a typical piano-bar vibe). It is true that he has musical influences (listening to him gives the impression of a Conte approaching Capossela), but he is certainly not a clone of anyone. He is Alessandro Ducoli, a genius in his own way, and definitely deserves to be heard.

I am personally convinced of one thing: that Ducoli deserves much more than just the Camonica Valley, and it’s time some record label awakens from its slumber. The album in question should be available on the website www.labandadelducoli.it
