Alessandro Baricco (born 1958 in Turin) is an Italian author and essayist known for novels and short fiction such as Castelli di Rabbia, City, Mr Gwyn and the monologue Novecento.

Founder of Scuola Holden (a Turin creative writing school). His monologue Novecento was adapted as the basis for the film The Legend of 1900.
