THE REVIEW

Jazz fusion, flamenco, and Latin American music, these are the ingredients of an immortal music that after thirty years continues to thrill, a sublime and mysterious journey of which the young (then) talent Al Di Meola will guide you.

The soothing sound of his guitar will accompany you through the psychedelic dream of "The wizard", then gently rock you in "Midnight tango", it will caress you without letting go, a succession of sounds and sensations capture your attention, stirring your emotions. Styles and cultures dance with each other, the aggressiveness of rock is tempered by the warmth and intensity of South American sounds and rhythms.

Flamenco subdues hard rock, "Race with the devil on Spanish highway" as well as "Elegant gypsy suite" seem to introduce us to a path where all sense of rationality is lost, emotions lose control, fast scales and dark guitar riffs, refined melodies, heartfelt improvisations, and funk interludes alternate in a whirlwind of sounds.

The duet with Paco De Lucia "Mediterranean sundance" is an anthology piece; Al Di Meola is the versatile architect of this adventure and like a painter holding a palette full of colors, with one brushstroke after another, he completes his masterpiece, Elegant Gypsy is his beautiful work of art and as such, it manages to deeply touch the listener, music that captures the heart.
