LA RECENSIONE

This album tastes of farewells...

It is an imaginary soundtrack for those who leave and know they will never return, for those who will make the world their new home, for those who leave something behind in the hope of finding much more.

The acoustic project World Sinfonia is a journey through the sounds of the world, the sounds of everyone.

Stripped of Di Meola's electric charge, bare and essential, he accompanies us on our long pilgrimage in search of the music that is more ours than any other, from the Argentina of Astor Piazzolla (Tango II, Night club 1960, Milonga del Angel), to the oriental influences (Heru Mertal/Don't go so far away, They love me from fifteen feet away), passing through his compositions between tango and gypsy and classics of all times (Somebody my prince will come).

His marked sensitivity is complemented by the presence of extraordinary musicians like Dino Saluzzi on bandoneon, Arto Tunboyacian on percussion, and Chris Carrington on the second guitar, an ensemble that manages to paint a picture where disappointments marry hopes, defeats with the desire for redemption.

An album of chiaroscuro with sudden bursts of light. Di Meola's guitar is at times sweet, calm, and reassuring, then it is strummed and torn by wild fingers, somewhat like this imaginary sea we are sailing on in this exciting journey.
