There are bands that raise hopes with debut albums in which they demonstrate a certain talent, catch the eye of the current major label, and finally reach fame with decidedly more commercial full-length albums, regularly trashed by critics but adored by teenage audiences.
One of these bands is Aiden. In their latest work "Nightmare Anatomy," we find ourselves facing a copy of My Chemical Romance, but the previous "Our Gang's Dark Oath" is quite different. There are no "catchy" choruses, no commercial sheen. On the contrary, the tracks are characterized by continuous changes of atmosphere, by "sincere" screams and not just because they are trendy, by a "raw" sound just right.
A Punk/Rock album devoid of the Pop/Commercial component, which still sticks in your head easily without being predictable, banal, or "fake". Listen to tracks like "I Set My Friends On Fire" or "Looking Glass Eyes" (which even brings to mind Strike Anywhere or Anti-Flag) to believe it.
