Formed in Osaka in 1999, Onmyo-Za are a Japanese heavy metal band known for stage names, Heian-period costumes, lyrics in classical Japanese and songs about mythology and historical figures.

Kojin Rasetsu (2002) was their first major-label release on King Records and is often considered their major debut; the band blends classic heavy metal influences with Japanese folk elements. Lineup notes in reviews: bassist Matatabi (principal songwriter), guitarists Maneki and Karukan, vocalist Kuroneko, keyboardist Abe Masahiro; drummer Tora (Atsushi Kawatsuka) was official until 2009 and Daboshi Makoto is a supporting member from 2011.
