THE REVIEW

About Age Of Nemesis and their four albums released (in their native language, regarding the lyrics) exclusively in their country of origin (that is, Hungary), I believe that few (around here) were aware of them. Unless they are listeners, as well as absolute followers, of that matter called prog-metal. And indeed, it must be recognized that if you are lovers of what was produced in the '90s by Dream Theater rather than Conception or Fates Warning, you will certainly be able to draw vital energy from "Terra Incognita."

The technical preparation of the Hungarian quintet is put at the service of a sufficiently mature writing, even if scarcely personalized, where the classic/melodic metal instrumental scores (predominant) alternate with progressive nature phrases, emphasized by keyboard inserts. The sound is always solid, but it's clear where the lessons come from and how they are applied.

Surely not innovative, and if they had avoided prolonging for over an hour and seven minutes, I believe they would have been more digestible and less redundant.

Summary by Bot

Age Of Nemesis' 'Terra Incognita' showcases solid technical skills and a mature blend of melodic and progressive metal. Influenced by 70s prog-metal bands like Dream Theater, it delivers vitality but lacks strong innovation. The album's length may feel excessive, affecting overall digestibility.
