THE REVIEW

There are those Saturday nights when you're really getting bored... you've eaten some pizza and still not satisfied, you grab a double cheeseburger at the pub... you realize it's time for a shot, you quickly down your "Tsunami," you feel your throat burn slightly because the rather attractive waitress lit it, but you know it won't do anything to you... it will take much more....

Around midnight it's time for a good ice cream with double cream, after which you find yourself in your car because it's started to get cold outside and you and your friends are all still in short sleeves.... defiant... two of your group are bouncing up and down in the car like maniacs thanks to the tunes of a "feel-good cd," one keeps banging his head on the door due to a headache, another, just arrived, is lying on the ground smoking a nice fat joint of Camel just bought after a hard Saturday of work, poorly paid by the way, and you're there, you know you're getting bored, but you don't know how to liven up the evening....

Finally, it's 3 a.m.... you decide to go home, you drop off the last two survivors of the evening at the usual corner, and there you are, left in your car, with your stereo and your cds, you realize it's the right time for a song: "I don't wanna miss a thing," your journey home begins, you feel like the astronauts in the movie 'Armageddon' on their daunting journey to a comet on a collision course with Earth, they had to blow it up, and save the lives of their wives, their children, the entire human race... your personal journey, though short and seemingly mundane, is equally daunting, you have to make it home while keeping at bay the roller coasters mixed with drowsiness that try to distract you from your goal... but on your way, you are nevertheless guided by the voice of Aerosmith's big-toothed singer, who accompanies you with his song as he did in the movie with his daughter, in the shoes of Bruce Willis...

You keep listening to those wonderful words, that sweet melody, finally find a parking spot, go up to your house, and lie down in your bed... you've made it, just like the astronauts in 'Armageddon,' you've completed your journey, and as you fall asleep those words echo in your mind:

"I could stay awake just to hear you breathingWatch you smile while you are sleepingWhile you're far away dreamingI could spend my life in this sweet surrenderI could stay lost in this moment foreverEvery moment spent with you is a moment I treasureDon't wanna close my eyesDon't wanna fall asleep'Cause I'd miss you babyAnd I don't wanna miss a thing'Cause even when I dream of youThe sweetest dream would never doI'd still miss you babyAnd I don't want to miss a thingLaying close to you feeling your heart beatingAnd I'm wondering what you're dreamingWondering if it's me you're seeingThen I kiss your eyesAnd thank God we're togetherI just wanna stay with you in this moment foreverForever and everDon't wanna close my eyesI don't wanna fall asleep'Cause I'd miss you babyAnd I don't wanna miss a thing'Cause even when I dream of youThe sweetest dream will never doI'd still miss you babyAnd I don't want to miss a thingI don't wanna miss one smileI don't wanna miss one kissI just wanna be with youRight here with you, and just like thisI just want to hold you closeFeel your heart so close to mineAnd just stay here in this momentFor all the rest of timeDon't wanna close my eyesI don't wanna fall asleep'Cause I'd miss you babyAnd I don't wanna miss a thing'Cause even when I dream of youThe sweetest dream will never doI'd still miss you babyAnd I don't want to miss a thingDon't want to close my eyesI don't want to fall asleepI don't want to miss a thing.....

and as you fall asleep, you think of the girl you're in love with......
Ded to: next Saturday..... come what may.....
