It is not an album that will make history, nor is it an album from which to expect anything extraordinary. It is an album to pleasantly pass the time without many expectations. In fact, the title already suggests as much.

It starts with "Lirica d'inverno" (to which the cover is inspired), a tale of a love story set in a fairytale setting, concluding with a happy ending, that is, marriage with the beloved.
"Un bimbo sul leone" takes on a fable-like tone complete with a moral: it is humans who are the beasts, not children or animals, a topic that Celentano will also touch on in many other songs like "Uh… Uh… " and "Arrivano gli uomini". Most of the songs on this album, however, are quite different from Celentano's 80s tracks: there is more singing and less preaching, although this is the first of his albums where this trend manifests.
In "Chi era Lui" there is sung the misunderstanding towards Jesus Christ and therefore God, a song that falls into that mystical vein that will lead him to flop films like "Joan Lui".

At this point, the sequel to "Il ragazzo della via Gluck" appears, "La Storia Di Serafino", which for reasons still unknown to me, comes before the song of which it should be a continuation. The protagonist is Serafino, a shepherd who became wealthy thanks to an inheritance. The news spreads and brings joy to the inhabitants of the town where Serafino has decided to live, but envy reigns supreme, and his enemies take him to court hoping to declare him crazy to grab his money. The shepherd refuses and returns to the mountains from where he came, just to reiterate the wickedness of people in society. At least that's what I seemed to understand, as I never saw the film.
"Straordinariamente", a banal love song, is easy on the ears but doesn't make an impact.
Here comes the evergreen, "Il ragazzo della via Gluck", based on a few guitar chords, where the national Adriano takes a stand against the frenetic and growing urbanization of the Sixties. The song tells of a boy who goes to the city, leaving his beloved countryside home. After eight years, he intends to buy back his old home but can no longer find it amid all the buildings that have sprung up in that time.
Then we move on to "Storia d'amore", a story of a troubled love relationship, centered on the reciprocal Catullian "odi et amo" which ends with an accordion solo. Right after "Napoleone, il cowboy e lo zar", where each of the three characters, having appeared in a dream, represents, according to my personal interpretation, the powers of the time: Europe, the United States of America, and the Soviet Union. These powers are described as if they have hate in their hearts, hate which will suddenly vanish when a man who brings peace appears. (Who might that be?)
Next comes "Una festa sui prati", a depiction of a joyful picnic and at the same time an invective against competition pushed to extremes only for profit, the battle of money, indeed.

Another staple in Celentano's repertoire is "Mondo in Mi7a", a very current song considering that newspapers have been reporting such news for years and that clichés haven't changed much over time.

This land is the monopoly of wrong ideas
here they reward those films where there's one more dead
they devour novels with clues in installments
there's even corruption where there's sport.

Listening to it again, you notice how many topics touched upon here (like the atomic bomb, now-daily murders, lack of moral values) still bounce around in our newspapers. Is it possible that in about forty years the world hasn't changed an iota?

Finally, two tracks that give a sense to the album's title, "L'uomo nasce nudo" and "La pelle": the first tackles the atomic bomb issue in a particular way.
Men almost cooked by now for the atomic dinner or the man is born naked with the apple's sin deep in his heart are passages that give an idea of the type of track the listener is subjected to. The sinner can do nothing but rely on his pure woman, dressed in white, with a body without shame. The musical finale, however, manages to convey the disturbing idea of an impending apocalypse.
"La pelle" deals with life and the respect one must have for the "garb of life" (the skin) that remains sewn to our body as long as we live: that's why we must thank God with folded hands, the "great tailor", who created skin for humanity.
As a bonus track, there appears "Se sapevo non crescevo": the protagonist of the piece is a child who looks at the world from a window and sees streets full of shops, bicycles, and horses, but when grown-up he sees nothing but ads that will lead him to exhaustion.

Abundant use of brass in minor and/or less famous songs. Lyrics and music mainly entrusted to Luciano Beretta, Miky Del Prete, and Gino Santercole with some sporadic contribution by Celentano. Very simple arrangements.

Tu non sai
cosa ho fatto quel giorno
quando io la incontrai
in spiaggia ho fatto il pagliaccio
per mettermi in mostra agli occhi di lei
che scherzava con tutti i ragazzi
all'infuori di me.
Perché, perché, perché, perché,
io le piacevo.
Lei mi amava, mi odiava,
mi amava, mi odiava,
era contro di me,
io non ero ancora il suo ragazzo
e già soffriva per me
e per farmi ingelosire
quella notte lungo il mare
è venuta con te.
Ora tu vieni a chiedere a me
tua moglie dov'è.
Dovevi immaginarti
che un giorno o l'altro
sarebbe andata via da te.
L'hai sposata sapendo che lei,
sapendo che lei
moriva per me
coi tuoi soldi
hai comprato il suo corpo
non certo il suo cuor.
Lei mi amava, mi odiava,
mi amava, mi odiava,
era contro di me, io non ero
ancora il suo ragazzo
e già soffriva per me
e per farmi ingelosire
quella notte lungo il mare
è venuta con te.
Un giorno io vidi lei
entrar nella mia stanza
mi guardava,
silenziosa,
aspettava un sì da me.
Dal letto io mi alzai
e tutta la guardai
sembrava un angelo.
Mi stringeva sul suo corpo,
mi donava la sua bocca,
mi diceva sono tua
ma di pietra io restai.
Io la amavo, la odiavo,
la amavo, la odiavo,
ero contro di lei,
se non ero stato il suo ragazzo
era colpa di lei.
E uno schiaffo all'improvviso
le mollai sul suo bel viso
rimandandola da te.
A letto ritornai
piangendo la sognai
sembrava un angelo.
Mi stringeva sul suo corpo
mi donava la sua bocca
mi diceva sono tua
e nel sogno la baciai.
