LA RECENSIONE

As an image, "Shining" came to mind, the hall of the past danced with the present.

The Caretaker?

Nothing new, take old recordings on organ cylinder rolls and have a chamber trio play over them.

The old crackle is enough, haunted house effect, melodies in black and white.

The Phantom Bride arrives, dances a creaky Debutantes' waltz and...

........Nothing.

A work certainly not bad.

But I find it Boring

Summary by Bot

Adrian Lane's album 'Playing With Ghosts' attempts to create a haunting, vintage atmosphere by layering chamber trio music over old recordings. Despite its intriguing concept, the album feels repetitive and unengaging, leading the reviewer to find it boring overall. The work is acknowledged as competent but lacking innovation or excitement.
