The American brothers Randon and Rannoch Purcell, after concluding their experience as Agnes Poetry, founded a new group, Adom9, continuing excellently what they had already started.
The debut "Deluge" is a double CD packed with splendid electronic music. Here's "I Wonder" and it's immediately clear what it's about. High-quality synthpop. Samples, distortions, loops, and delightful melodies. It's not played music; it's programmed music, yet it's capable of evoking emotions and creating magical atmospheres like the following track "Blind," marvelous in its slow and dreamy progression. "Go On" and especially "Bass Station Cowboy" envelop us in very engaging breakbeat and drum & bass rhythms. Here comes "Between Us," my favorite piece, a splendid ballad, a pure musical experience, and vocal harmony. Thrills and tears give way to "Every Horizon," pure electronic music but always paired with inspired harmonies. We slow down the beats, and here is "Mariyé," a beautiful slow track with piano and flute in the foreground. Closing with "Anyday," a remix of one of their wonderful tracks that never had the fortune to find a place on an album. Justice is served, with it tasked to conclude a marvelous album.
The second CD "Missa De Deux Freres" is a Mass sung in 4-8 voices completely in Latin in an electronic version. Definitely worth listening to. I love them.
