A little time to kill on the PC before going to bed, the magical world of the triple W, a brightly colored cover, and voilà: a new album to make love to non-stop for a week before tossing it into oblivion due to excessive overuse.

I'll be brief: imagine the result of a hypothetical union between the technicalities of Don Caballero and that electronic, slightly playful sound of Battles: these are Adebisi Shank. Eight mad fragments of math rock floating in a sea of slightly danceable electronics, alternating moments of uncompromising, rigorous "mathematical" melody with other moments of pure electric orgasm with robotic appearances, stuff that sometimes spills into noise. A perfect soundtrack for a classic shoot 'em up game, of the kind that were endlessly consumed on summer evenings when you were a kid with a can of Pepsi by your side. Disturbing and disturbed attacks in their din of distortions (open track), small rock'n'roll dreams made of catchy riffs and insanely driving in their simplicity ("Mini Rockers", "Snakehips"), voices filtered to the unbelievable that seem to come from the mouth of an automaton ("Shunk", "You Me"). Nothing cerebral or complicated, quite the opposite. Don't let the math rock label fool you, this is an album of almost disarming immediacy.

I’ve been incredibly brief, just like the album: 23 minutes and nothing more, but damn what a delight!
Be careful not to overindulge!
