The Profile

Acid Bath was an American sludge/doom-influenced band active in the early-to-mid 1990s, fronted by vocalist Dax Riggs. They released two widely cited studio albums, When The Kite String Pops (1994) and Paegan Terrorism Tactics (1996), and split after the death of their bassist.

Formed in Louisiana and active primarily 1991–1997. Released two major studio albums (1994, 1996). Band disbanded following the death of bassist Audie Pitre in 1997. Noted for blending sludge, doom, grunge, stoner and death elements and for Dax Riggs' distinctive vocal range.

Two detailed DeBaser reviews praise Acid Bath's ferocity, desolation and genre-defying sound. Reviewers highlight Dax Riggs' vocal versatility and the band's mix of sludge, grunge, doom and death elements. Both studio albums are considered unique and essential. The band is remembered for its intense mood and tragic end after the death of the bassist.
