THE REVIEW

This album may be unknown to most... UNFORTUNATELY!! It is one of the most thrilling releases of Swedish-style Death/Black that I have ever had the pleasure to listen to.

The strangest thing we can notice is, first of all, the length of the album and more specifically the length of the songs. In fact, one hour and six minutes divided by nine songs is quite a challenging duration! Suffice it to say that apart from the splendid instrumental "Toghether we summon the dark", which serves as an integral part of the subsequent "I've watched the moon grow old" and lasts 5.27, all the others have a considerable length, on average 7 minutes each! This should lead to a consideration... Either these Abyssos are terribly heavy, or they are absolute geniuses... What do you think?? It's incredible how each song is different from the other and is composed of impeccable and never repetitive riffs. Moreover, this is a band that makes atmosphere its strong point, using the keys as little as possible, which in any case do nothing but improve the situation when present and never excessively invade the "scene".

By listening to certain songs, we can also understand where Amon Amarth got inspiration for certain riffs... Quoting the unmissable songs is pointless, because just reading the tracklist would give you a clear idea of the situation; in any case, it is essential to remember masterpieces like "Banquet in the Dark (Black Friday)" and especially the fantastic "I've watched the moon grow old". Never a filler, never a drop in style.

If you are lovers of death/black with typical Swedish sounds and are crazy about bands like Dissection and Dawn (not Phil Anselmo's Down, eh!!), you will love this group to madness.
