Abhorrence are a Finnish death metal band formed in Helsinki in 1989. They released the demo 'Vulgar Necrolatry' and a four-song self-titled EP in 1990 before splitting after roughly a year.

The band's sound is described as sinister and hypnotic with latent doom influences. Guitarist Tomi Koivusaari later formed Amorphis. The group played concerts in Finland and at least one show in Norway; Relapse Records contacted them regarding an album. Jukka Kolehmainen (former singer) was later brought back to record a cover of 'Vulgar Necrolatry'.
