What is stoner? Stoner is simply an element that can be linked to anything to create something new. Let me explain better with some examples:

  • linking stoner to the desert gives you Kyuss
  • linking it to doom gives you Scott "Wino" Weinrich
  • linking it to southern gives you Alabama Thunderpussy
  • linking it to nitroglycerin gives you High on Fire
  • linking it to grunge and thrash gives you Abdullah

Here we are at last, it's precisely so, Abdullah is right at the center of this triangle.

The first listen of this album happened in the morning, while reviewing molecular biology notes as background music. I only remember that I was reading, understanding, everything was sticking, it was going well when at a certain point I found myself moshing alone in my room, against the wardrobes, the walls, against anything, I turned up the volume and as if waiting for me, the neighbor below started banging the ceiling with a broomstick. I couldn't make sense of it anymore, I turned down the volume, the thrashing "Deprogramed" had ended, I lay on the bed, panting, I reflected and at this point my classic WOW of amazement burst out, I realized I had hit the jackpot, screw biology, this album deserves the spotlight not the background, I put on the headphones and continued listening...

Then comes "Salamander", it seems written in Seattle, not in Cleveland (Abdullah’s city), beautiful, it reminds me of the times I listened to Alice in Chains, then comes "Beyond The Mountain" beautiful, it reminds me of the times I listened to Soundgarden, then comes "They, The Tyrants" beautiful, it reminds me of the times I listened to Corrosion of Conformity.

14 tracks, 14, I say 14 pieces, 14 with a total duration of one hour and five minutes highly recommended for lovers of the genre, or rather genres.

WOOOOOW!
