A Place to Bury Strangers are an American noise-rock/shoegaze band from New York City, formed in 2002 by guitarist/singer Oliver Ackermann. Known for punishingly loud shows, the group fuses shoegaze drones, post-punk rhythms, and dark-wave atmospheres. Ackermann also designs Death By Audio effects pedals, a signature part of their sound.
