THE REVIEW

Second album for the Scandinavian band led by Pal Waaktaar, the mastermind of the group, and the brilliant Morten Harket, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful voices in the contemporary pop scene. This could be defined, after the success achieved with the first album "Hunting High And Low" in 1985, the acid test.

The album is catchy and not trivial from the very first listen, but it's only by listening to it carefully again that one realizes the songs are exceptionally well made and well arranged, developed with a logic that was somewhat missing in the previous work. The sounds are fresh and clear, one breathes clean air and glimpses endless horizons amidst the northern ice. A particular mention should be made for two particularly delicate tracks: "Scoundrel Days" and "Soft Rains of April". A band inexplicably underrated by the Italian public, even in light of their latest excellent productions.
