THE REVIEW

Juno60 is not the sequel to Jason Reitman's movie, but rather an aesthetically ugly keyboard that in a few years will be considered vintage, played in "Neil Young is Watching Me" by A Farmer Sea. This is the first track of their second self-produced EP in 2007 and recorded the previous year.

Andy, Cito, Ko, and Già are the members of this group that started in Turin back in 2004. They have played in several notable festivals and received positive reviews from numerous publications, including international ones.
In "Neil Young is Watching Me" they offer us acoustic indie pop that floats on organs and keyboards, in an atmosphere of emotional fluidity.
In the second and last track "Helsinki Under Great Snow" we find a drum machine in pure Kid-a-style, and more electric guitars with a more insistent proposal of the main riff.
Sung, or rather whispered, in English and with a fair number of instruments (Piano, organ, juno60, casio sk1, glockenspiel, electric and acoustic guitars, and "programming") that however are not enough to fill the insubstantial vaporousness of these two tracks, which our friends would like to pass off as romanticism.

A separate discussion should be made on the choice of the English language. The EPs are a great way to discover or complete a band's journey, in this case for the first option it's better to start with their video "Teenage Love" from their recent debut album "Low Fidelity In Relationships".
This has also received positive reviews, but in my opinion, it does not stray far from the style of these two tracks, one of which also appears on the track list.

Distortions at the end or repeated riffs do not give the desired effervescence and overall the result, even if properly recorded, is amateurish, colorless, but they do make great t-shirts.

Sure, it is an EP recorded with the group still at its early stages, but the fact remains that I did not like it.
