LA RECENSIONE

The 883? A massive super classic of my childhood. Here, however, we're not talking about the band that included Mauro Repetto (who, at some point, went to America to create the solo album Zucchero filato nero, which now, in hindsight, is considered by many (but not by me) a true cult record. [I know these things because I'm in contact with some radio personalities]); but we're talking about who, as far as I'm concerned, are the REAL 883. Here the lineup is much broader and, by chance, the band also includes the Iezzi sisters, namely Paola and Chiara. But I must say that I never liked 883 and they were never my genre.

At this point, it’s worth mentioning one of the songs from the album: O me o (Quei deficienti lì), a track in whose video clip Paola Iezzi is super sexy and steals the scene from everyone, including her sister Chiara, Max, and all the boys and girls seen in that video clip. Furthermore, it’s possible to mention the delightful title track (of which there is also a dance version, remixed by the Bliss Team).

883

883 were an Italian pop/pop-rock project initially formed as a duo by Max Pezzali and Mauro Repetto, breaking through in the early 1990s and becoming a major youth-culture phenomenon in Italy. Reviews repeatedly highlight their everyday, youth-focused storytelling and the later shift after Repetto’s departure, with reception ranging from affectionate nostalgia to harsh criticism of repetition and commercial decline.
