A heartrending and anguished scream says "Is this all the world has to offer?", a scream that moves you, enters inside you, pierces you, leaving you motionless, lying there, on the floor. The same voice sings "Please fight for me". . .
Brock Lindow is the singer of 36 Crazyfists, as well as the author of all the lyrics and a strong element of the band hailing from Alaska. RoadRunner contracts this band with the rather bizarre name and 36 PugniPazzi, defying all fashionable trends, records "Bitterness the Star". "Slit Wrist Theory" is the first single. Melodic, sick, sad, and angry. From Alaska, they bring the coldness and solitude in pieces that range between metal, post-hardcore, and some hints of nu-metal.
Not a crease, not a "rap" that's so trendy, not a too melodic opening. No compromises. Take it or leave it.
Lindow writes "Two Months From A Year" a few tracks later, a distorted and melancholic guitar starts a sound, a scream, and then the despair "Still i'm falling, still i'm falling". The song in question is "Ceramic", one of the most beautiful.
A growl says "Circle the Drain". A few seconds are enough, and the rhythm section repeats the same motif ad infinitum; Brock continues to despair "It shows me nothing at all". A small pause and the chorus starts, repeating "Circle the Drain" between melodic and growl.
The frontman's voice is versatile, sick, distorted naturally, able to pass well through precise and pressing guitars.
Everything turns off. Everything closes. The music no longer attacks you. Lindow no longer bites.
The acoustic guitar plays and has the bitter taste of tears. A sad song. Brock Lindow moves you again, until the end. "I want to look you in your eye".
Everything turns off. Everything closes. This time for real. This album is destabilizing. It leaves you stunned. Incredibly beautiful. Sincere. Moving.
They don't have a famous name. But this album is one of the most beautiful of recent years.
