"I hope the car isn't stuck": this was the thought of poor and rather pissed-off Stefano at around 10 PM on July 4th, 2010.

The day started badly, and he knew it, but he was as happy as a clam because it had been 5 years since he last saw the Green Day and now he could rock out to their songs again! And he had even involved his girlfriend in the adventure. But something wasn't right... they had left from Rome the day before, but there was something in the air that... well... didn't convince him! Perhaps it was the 275 circles they took before finding a relatively close parking to Parco San Giuliano; or maybe it was the 40°C heating up the park's green grass, appearing more alive when observing the horizon and noticing the typical "desert" effect created by the heat.

But you couldn't attribute all the negative flow to these "little things"; dammit, though, a ½ liter bottle for 2 €! "Little thing, my ass" thought the vulgar Stefano, considering that water was flowing like rivers; and the only alternative were weak-flow fountains full of people queued up like old folks at the post office.

Sun... hot, hateful, suffocating, mischievous sun! A bush provided shelter to the two young ones who found a little relief under the branches while about 300 meters away, someone was starting to make music.

"Who are these guys?": a girl can't know the Rise Against; but, wait a moment, I don't even know these four rowdies who want to act tough but perhaps only have bad breath and nothing more.

Cool applause followed by a bit more interest for the Editors; enjoyable, dark, and fascinating sound; it would have been perfect for the gloomy weather that was about to reach us.

But here they are! The idols of the girls!!! The 30 Seconds To Mars make their entrance accompanied by one of those triumphant tunes as if they were the headliners of the day. However, they know how to entertain, and I have to admit that up until that moment, they were the most interesting; "but how much does this guy talk?" exclaimed someone from the back, referring to the frontman as handsome as he was talkative; and turning towards the source of the comment, Stefano noticed the threatening cloud wanting to strike everyone from behind...

"Are you waiting for Green Day?" And what do you think? Come on, sing these four little songs and go home!

And then an artificial flash, then a natural one... "no, it can't be! It was hot up until now, damn it!"; the run to shelter was brief from there! And there they all were, some smoking, some continuing to take souvenir photos while outside nature was doing its flashes. All under the restaurant-canvas, squeezed like sardines, all seeing their hopes of idolizing their favorites swept away.

Someone, nonchalant and hopeful, waits under the stage, others join the serpent of people leaving the park wetter than with memories.

And then a flash, and another one illuminating the disappointing Venetian night...
