✡SUGE SHOT ME✡

7 like the days spent in the hospital before death

7 like the albums released

7 like the gunshots

7 like the fatal day

7 like absolute perfection.

︻┳═一 20 years ago...

August 1996.

In just 7 days Makaveli, the cursed artist, composed this cryptic album shrouded in a mystical aura: those who lived through those years would have heard the tragic story on the news or radio...

In that period, he was a disputed character, criticized and loved. Controversial.

Makaveli is his second "alias". After a failed assassination attempt in 1993, he decided to always wear a bulletproof vest. While MTV played him incessantly, someone decided to silence him forever.

Like it or not, his music and persona made history for the genre and the decade. His death leaves us with 7 excellent albums (including this one, the first posthumous and with his new alias).

He left us too soon. Like all great artists.

Not much more can be said about this album. It's not the best of his repertoire, not the most exciting nor the best produced. Sure, for an album composed in only 7 days, you don't expect a masterpiece, but as many have already said, before the music there was his enormous personality; his genius, his figure as a "stern" but "just" protector of political and social injustices, often overshadowed his musical flaws (not that they were crap, to be clear. But in those years there was better music available).

The 7th days theory is the darkest of his career: the lyrics speak of his future death, redemption, religion: for many, these 12 tracks hide messages that suggest a "theory of 7" referring to various events in his life, and it is said that his death was staged to disappear from showbiz. Personally, I don't believe much in these theories, but the aura of mystery that accompanies 2pac's last production has always fascinated me a lot.

Almost 20 years after his disappearance, I want to remember him this way. Rest in peace bro ;)

and I remember what my father told me
The new word, follow me - I remember what my father told me

B☠L☠A☠S☠P☠H☠E☠M☠Y

Blessed are those who steal in the name of the Lord

We're probably already in hell, our foolish asses don't know it

All those who kiss us to go to heaven

won't get there

I put my soul into it, fighting nigga bastards daily

plus, the media crucify brothers hard

blasphemy

2Pac

Tupac Amaru Shakur (1971–1996) was an American rapper and actor whose work bridged militant social critique and West Coast gangsta bravado. He rose from Digital Underground affiliations to craft landmarks like Me Against the World and All Eyez on Me, and as Makaveli delivered The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory. Killed in Las Vegas, his legacy continues through posthumous releases and cultural influence.
