THE REVIEW

113 aka Rim-k, A.P and Mokobé, straight outta Vitry sur Seine (94, neuf-quatre, nove-quattro) one of the most interesting groups in the French hip hop scene in recent years.
Known in France mainly after their 1999 album "Les princes de la ville" with the track "Tonton du bled", 113 are part of the Mafia K'1 Fry crew, including Ogb, Rohff, Selim du 94, Jessy Money, Bakar, Karlito, Popa, Intouchable, Misto Flo, Teddy Corona.

This album contains many tracks from the previous album "113 fout la merde" in new versions, plus a series of unreleased tracks with guests from various styles, creating fusions that range from Rai (Cheb Mami), to Reggae, more African rhythms (Oumou Sangaré)... up to the unmistakable vocoder by Thomas Bangalter of Daft Punk in "113 fout la merde".

Clearly, the world of the "banlieue", the "cité", the periphery, remains the focal point of 113's lyrics (...la banlieue c'est dangereux, t'as raison de te chier dessus...).
In short, a great album for anyone wanting to get an idea of what is listened to across the Alps.
