Well... if I'm not mistaken, this is the band of the guitarist from Monster Magnet. I just listened to their new album "4" the other day and it impressed me on the first listen. Their version of Astronomy Domine is nice too, even though it's not too different from the original.
A great album, re-listened (distractedly) these days after a life and a half. While the main band was settling into embarrassing levels, Mundell was producing some really nice stuff. Very poor reception: basically what you wrote could work for any badass rock album. If it weren't for that lovely little person of the lukin man, it wouldn't even come out that Atomic Bitchwax were a spin-off of Monster Magnet. What a pity.
